Concrete Stepping Stones

Well on the schedule today was to be homemade concrete stepping stones. I have all the stuff to do it. I even have the muscle to move the bag of concrete mix. However, it is so humid and another threat of rain so I'm having to delay these.

What am I gonna do well I think I will crochet coasters for the new screen porch. I will be sure to post pictures of them when they are done as well as the free pattern I found online to make them.

Hope your day is going good. Are you reading anything good/ bad or otherwise?

We did Cooler Corn

So to be honest I did not think this would work. However since the first time I made it when it was over 100 degrees here in Northwest Indiana with no Air Conditioning to taking it to a bring a dish 4th of July party. We put it in several different kinds of coolers, from a small lunch style to a large 5 gallon water cooler and all of them worked and it stayed hot for hours and ready to eat.

Here is what we did. We shucked the corn and made sure we had as much of the silks off it as possible. Then we put the cleaned corn in the cooler and covered it with boiling water amount depends on size of cooler. 30 minutes later you had perfectly cooked corn ready for your favorite condiments.

This was a Pin that actually worked, I have had several that didn't but those are posts for another day.
Now go to the local grocery store, produce stand or farmers market and make yourself some freezer corn.

Enjoy.

We made Pony Bead Suncatchers.....

Well Melted Pony Beads Suncatchers are all the rage on Pinterest (this is the original pin I followed http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=185741.0#axzz2UDUgBbOT) and we made one, ok we made several. The Opaque beads work great for coasters and trivets and potted plant coasters but the clearer beads make better suncatchers and sometimes if you bake them a few extra minutes they become slightly clearer and more transparent. My son made this one and he was so proud of it. So did this work absolutely. We used different pans to make different types and styles. This one was made in a plain cake pan. We made diamond ones by using a square pan and circle with circles using mini tube pans. So, experiment and have fun with it we have and have them all over the garden now. Enjoy yourselves and have fun.
